Biography
Ziang Liu works on Chinese and global socioeconomic history. His research covers state-building, labour history, and long-run living standards between the 15th and the 20th centuries. His work has provided historiographical and methodological foundations for rethinking labour, state, and capitalism beyond the Northwestern European model.
Ziang served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Quantitative History in 2023/24, during which he also acted as the coordinator of the Quantitative History Webinar Series.
